Marshallese Solar Training Manual

We have adapted a 144 page solar training manual written by Herbert Wade into the Marshallese language. This Manual is written in both Marshallese and English, and is fully illustrated with diagrams and calculations demonstrating the inter workings of household scale solar systems, including tips for maintenance and repair. This manual will be available for training Island Ecos customers and to other parties interested in solar energy. A video is also being produced to complement the solar manual, which will be available in the middle of this year. The manual includes eleven chapters on the following topics:

  • Ch 5: The role batteries play in solar PV systems, how they work, how to maintain them and the different types of batteries

  • Ch 8: Information about DC refrigeration units and how to use and maintain them
